Tracy Anne Smith
I was born on the 29th March 1962 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire and have lived in Aberystwyth, Wales since 1989. I am a mother of two beautiful boys who continuously inspire me and keep me motivated. My intention is to share my knowledge and skills and encourage others in this thriving art world.
My Further Edudaction study has awarded me with a BTEC National Certificate in Fine Art with History, at Coleg Ceredigion, Aberystwyth, and Higher Education at The School of Art, Aberystwyth, resulting in a 2.1 BA Degree in Fine Art with History. I am presently studying for a PGCE Higher Education teaching course, and am successfully running an art group on a Tuesday morning in Penrhyncoch, Aberystwyth.
My work evolves from surrounding images and everyday circumstances. I am very aware of how the subconcious mind generate surprising outcomes within my artwork. I am inspired and stimulated by colour, but I also love the contrast of black and white. I am drawn to the geometric pattern of structure and architecture, the curvacious lines of the human body and the panoramic views of the landscape. The diversity of my work encourages me to use mixed mediums to enhance textures and appearances in my chosen subject.
The process of Etching with Aquatint has captivated me. The transformation of my imagery occurrs as a result of techniques, creating magical and tonal qualities. My nature evokes energies to create resentational images and compositions of Abstraction. I am excited and thrive on creating commissioned pieces of art work to specific requirements.
My passion of art and self determination has recently encouraged me to open a small 'gallery' stall in the Market Hall, Aberystwyth, Wales. So far it has proved to be successful in sales, commissions and leads to workshops in the area. Feedback has been positive and I am grateful for any comment. I am especially enlightened at the surprise of children, who whisper to their parents - 'she's painting'! I feel confident in my work and am enjoying the public interest in my 'live' production.
Most of all, I want to share my imagination and artwork with you!
